A Step Closer....

 

The Tasmanian Sisters of St Joseph welcome the announcement that Pope Benedict XVI has confirmed that the cure of the lady from inoperable lung cancer through the intercession of Blessed Mary MacKillop is a true miracle.

We await, with the rest of our Sisters, the Catholic Church and people around the world the Pope's final decision to canonise Mary MacKillop and the announcement from the Vatican for the date of the canonisation ceremony which will be held in Rome sometime in 2010.

Mary MacKillop is still an inspiration one hundred years after her death on 8th August 1909. Her canonisation will recognise her as a woman of God and a woman for people, especially those most neglected, vulnerable and suffering.
