The Archdiocese of Hobart will mark the Centenary of the death of Blessed Mary MacKillop with a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Doyle at St Mary’s Cathedral, Hobart on 8th August at 10.00 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend the Mass on this historic occasion and to join the Sisters of St Joseph for light refreshments in St Peter’s Hall afterwards.
During the month of August, the Emmanuel Centre in Launceston will host a series of evenings on various aspects of the life and spirituality of Blessed Mary MacKillop. The presenters will be four Sisters of St Joseph and staff from St Patrick's College.
The Catholic schools of the Archdiocese will be celebrating Catholic Education Week during the week following the Feast of Blessed Mary MacKillop. The theme adopted for the week is Embrace Mary MacKillop, Engage the World. There will be numerous activities including an art exhibition conducted by MacKillop College, Mornington for students in Catholic schools throughout Tasmania.
