HOBART CELEBRATES A GREAT AUSTRALIAN

As the Canonisation of Blessed Mary MacKillop on 17th October draws near, excitement within the Catholic community is building. However, interest in the event is not confined to those who honour her as a woman of extraordinary holiness. People in the wider community recognise her as a great Australian and as one whose achievements are worthy of celebration.

The Central Business District of the city of Hobart and the restaurant strip in Elizabeth Street, North Hobart are looking very festive with banners depicting Mary MacKillop lining the streets.
