Volunteer

The Sisters of St Joseph are inspired by the generosity and commitment of many people who give their time and use their talents voluntarily to assist them in their ministries. 

Men and women assist on Advisory Boards and Reference Groups where they use  their professional skills and talents to ensure that the best possible advice and support is received and the particular ministry is conducted appropriately and in accordance with both civil and canon law.  Other people develop a strong association with a particular ministry or place and assist in a variety of ways, part-time or for extended or specific periods of time. 

The sisters welcome and would be grateful for voluntary support and assistance in the following specific ministries:

Emmanuel Centre: Newstead

Our Spirituality Centre warmly welcomes (in fact depends on) the many generous volunteers who are prepared to share their many and varied talents and gifts in a wide ranging number of ways:

• Catering – cooking and preparation of meals
• Care of the dining room
• House cleaning and preparation of rooms for guests
• Floral decoration
• Care of our large garden and labyrinth
• “Handyman” – maintenance
• Administrative assistance: office, answering phone, welcoming guests
• Spiritual Direction ministry – ongoing direction, retreats, supervision of directors
• Prayer leadership. Facilitating reflection and prayer experiences
• Leading spirituality and personal development programmes.

MacKillop Hill, Forth

Volunteers to assist in the running of this Spirituality and Formation Centre are always welcome.  You can help in a variety of ways:

• Catering
• Gardening
• Maintenance and care of the gathering centre
• Administrative assistance
• Library assistance
• Programme preparation

Josephite Mission and History Centre, New Town.

Assistance is welcomed at this centre in the following ways:

• Reception: answering phone and welcoming guests
• Administration:  office work, photocopying, database.
• Gardening and lawns
• Care of the chapel
• Programme preparation
• Networking with Josephite groups
• Preparing and leading prayer experiences
• Cleaning
